What is Grillstock?
For those of you who do not know Grillstock is a series of BBQ restaurants in the UK together with being the biggest BBQ festival outside the USA. They have four BBQ Smokehouses in Bristol, Bath, Walthamstow & Leicester. The food is smoked low ‘n’ slow over hickory and fruit woods. They source their meat locally and produce all their own range of seasonings and BBQ sauces that they use to make their BBQ unique.
Grillstock: The BBQ Book
The team at Grillstock have now released a book. It is full of a wide range of recipes, many of which you are unlikely to have tried before. In addition to the recipes there are great hints and tips on smoking and how to BBQ the various dishes. One thing that I really found is that the recipes are great fun to make. Most the meat recipes will have you making your own rubs and / or BBQ sauce. I spent a ‘boys’ day of cooking with the brother-in-law where we cooked recipes such as:
- Moink Balls
- Pig Cheeks
- Chicken Lollipops
- Grillstock Bacon Cheeseburger
- Jalepeno Bacon Poppers
- A series of Rubs and BBQ sauces
Since then I have tried Belly Pork, Brisket and Rib recipes and all of them have been great.
What I like about this book is the variety and as you can see I have already tried many of the recipes. The instructions and guidance are also great, really easy to follow and if you are looking to get a little more ambitious with the BBQ cooking and smoking this is a great book to have.
At the time of writing the book is available from Amazon for £10 which is a great price for a really good recipe book that will provide lots of cooking pleasure.
